Approximately 13% of youth ages 8 to 15 experience severe mental disorders in a given year; a rate that increases to 20% for youth ages 13 to 18. Description
This was the third-year submission of the Foothills Behavioral Health Partners (FBHP) Reducing ED Utilization for Youth PIP. This topic addressed CMS' requirements related to quality outcomes--specifically, access to, and quality of, care and services. The purpose of this study was to reduce the rate of emergency department (ED) visits for a covered mental health diagnosis that did not result in a hospitalization within 24 hours of the ED visit.

Description
In 2008, only 76.9 percent of pregnant women in Colorado received first trimester prenatal care. The target for reporting year 2010 is 77.0 percent.1 Colorado falls below the (latest available) national average of 83.7 percent and well below Healthy People 2010 Objective 16-6a, which recommends that 90 percent of pregnant women enroll in first trimester prenatal care.

In this report, we utilize data from the Adverse Childhood Experiences module of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and from a linked state-initiated Child Health Survey to evaluate the impacts of parental history of adversity not only on their own adult health, but on the current health and well-being of their children.
