Colorado's rural districts are a major part of the state's 178 school districts yet only comprise 20 percent of the total student population in the state. While these rural school districts often have small student populations, they represent critical aspects of Colorado's education system.

School readiness describes the status and ongoing progress a child makes within the domains of physical well-being and motor development, social and emotional development, language and comprehension development, and cognition and general knowledge. By monitoring each child's progress across multiple domains, teachers, parents, schools, and caregivers can provide needed support to ensure each child's success in school.

Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States, with more than 40 million people reporting that a doctor has diagnosed them with the condition. Almost one-quarter (23%) of people in Colorado are living with some form of arthritis.

Throughout Colorado, judges have ordered individuals awaiting trial to be evaluated for their competency to participate in their own defense. Often times these individuals are found to be Incompetent to Proceed, meaning they must be restored to mental competency before they can stand trial for their alleged crimes. In 2010, Colorado ranked 48th in the nation in total public and private psychiatric beds.
