Description
The purpose of this report is to document Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques on IBRD (Innovative Bridge Research and Development) project 102470 for the construction of Bridge N-16-Q on State Highway 69 over Turkey Creek. The project demonstrated faster pier erection by utilizing precast pier caps to eliminate concrete cure time from the critical path in the construction schedule.

Description
The purpose of this study was to determine the procedures and possible benefits associated with flowing concrete. Based on the study presented in this report, it was determined that SCC was used successfully in the I-25 bridge replacement project in Trinidad. Unfortunately, the all-around lack of construction experience with SCC resulted in numerous aesthetic problems that are atypical of the material.
