June in Lake Eden brings plenty of work for Hannah Swensen, including a three-day fundraiser. Hannah's business partner, Lisa, suggests setting up n apple turnover stand, Hannah agrees to be a magician's assistant in the event's talent show. The only snag is the show's host Bradford Ramsey, Hannah had an unfortunate romantic relationship with Ramsey, and when he comes sniffing around between acts, Hannah tells him off. When the curtain doesn't go up, she discovers Ramsey dead--with a turnover in his hand. To protect her reputation, Hannah must get to the bottom of the professor's bitter end.
