Description
In July 2013, a 36-item survey was completed by 121 responding CACFP-participating child care centers. The survey was created to gage the types and amounts of kitchen equipment being used by centers for their food storage, preparation and cooking activities in order to gain insight to inform CACFP planning to assist and support our centers in meeting Healthier Meals Initiative recommendations. Respondents reported numerous challenges involving inadequate kitchen space and equipment. Between 10-30% report a lack of appropriate equipment in their kitchens to meet the HMI recommendations.
