This jurisdictional plan is comprised of the Colorado Comprehensive HIV Testing Plan (CCHTP), the 2012 Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan funded by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and a summary of the Colorado HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (CHAPP) funded by the State. These documents are complementary to provide a complete overview of the publicly funded HIV prevention efforts in the jurisdiction.

The fundamental purpose of the STI/HIV Section is to reduce STI/HIV infections and provide quality STI/HIV care and treatment services for all persons in Colorado.

The purpose of the Statewide Coordinated Statement of Need is to provide a collaborative mechanism to identify and address significant HIV care issues related to the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A), and to maximize coordination, integration, and effective linkages across the CARE Act Titles related to such issues.
